The C.I. Travel Group (CITG) is an ABTA and CAA bonded company. Established over 25 years ago, it is the Channel Islands’ largest tour operator. In 2009, CITG managed in excess of 40,000 clients - both inbound visitors from the UK and Europe and outbound from the Channel Islands to the UK, France and the Mediterranean.
In order to facilitate the expected 3,500 participants at the 2015 Island Games, CITG will be offering tailor-made packages for each island team. We recognize that some islands will prefer to charter their own plane to bring their team to Jersey. Our airport can handle aircraft of varying size up to the Boeing 767 (approximately 180 seats), subject to load restrictions. However, whilst most teams will travel to Jersey together, some team members together with family, friends and supporters may wish to visit Jersey independently. In this case, CITG can offer inclusive packages for individuals traveling via the UK or France.
All of CITG’s sales, marketing and operations functions are based at Jersey Airport and manned with professional staff who will take on responsibility for travel and accommodation arrangements, enabling the teams to concentrate on winning medals. As such, CITG is well placed to deal with, and resolve, any issues that will inevitably evolve during the booking process. Throughout the Games they will also provide a full back up service and will arrange ‘Welcome Desks’, manned by their own staff, to meet all teams on arrival in Jersey as well co-ordinating the coach transfers to their chosen places of accommodation.
CITG has significant experience and knowledge of handling large groups and events as the following testimonials illustrate.
2009 Dance World Cup
Over 1,200 competitors – C.I. Travel Group organized accommodation for over 900 participants and travel arrangements for some of the teams
“The success of the Dance World Cup was in part due to the wonderful deals you managed to achieve for accommodation. I would have no problem in recommending your firm to other people considering putting on a major event in Jersey that requires multiple hotel bookings.”
John Grimshaw - Organizer, Dance World Cup 2009
Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 5
A complex tournament bringing together 12 teams from across the globe to participate in the above event, held in Jersey during May 2008. C.I. Travel Group organized all accommodation, travel and transfers
“Thank you for your work and support of the tournament.... and for the individual attention you provided to a number of players who need to change their itinerary at the last minute. In my experience of holding international tournaments throughout the world, it is this that ensures a successful competition. I would certainly like to be able to work with companies like yours for all my tournaments. ”
