Natwest Island Games XVI - Jersey Island Games - a time to shine

Weather delivers Games heat

It wasn't just the competition that was hot at Jersey 2015.

Weather delivers Games heat

Worrying about the weather was a common theme in the build-up to the Games, in the end it was hats and sunscreen that were more useful than umbrellas and raincoats (with exception of Thursday morning's downpour).

Expert forecasting by Jersey's Met Office kept everyone involved aware of the conditions that were on the way, and the vast majority of competitors, officials, spectators and Waitrose Games Makers heeded warnings to protect against the sun and stay hydrated, even though Jersey experienced its hottest day for 12 years - a scorching 33c.

Jersey Met produced an infographic giving full details of the week's weather.
