Our aim is that the 2015 Games will build on the legacy of our long term involvement in international and Island Games competition through the continued delivery of sustainable grass roots sport in partnership with all 18 sports associations affiliated to International Island Games Association.

As well as giving hundreds of sportspeople from different backgrounds and islands the chance to demonstrate their sporting prowess, we want to include as many people as possible in the build up to the 2015 Games.

Until now, there has never been a host 'bid' website, outlining proposals and highlighting the different sports and venues. We’ve even incorporated an image gallery with video clips and interactive interviews. Should we be successful with our bid, we intend to further develop this website so it becomes an even more interactive tool.

We believe this gives everyone, whether participating, watching or organising, the chance to express their views and thoughts - and to feel a part of our planning for the 2015 Island Games.

It is also our intention to develop school events and cultural activities linked to the Island Games with a view to establishing an ongoing exhibition entitled ‘Who we are and where we are from’, which could be toured around other member islands and adapted and enhanced by future hosts.

We hope these new ideas will form part of the enduring legacy of the Island Games and the many benefits which result through the cultural exchange and promotion of sport, friendship, volunteering, business and tourism.

We believe we have the knowledge, skills, passion, experience and infrastructure to deliver a truly memorable Games – and we hope you do too.
