Natwest Island Games XVI - Jersey Island Games - a time to shine

Big screens being erected

Giant screens are being installed at two venues in Jersey, ready for spectators to enjoy.

The giant screen at Liberation Square, which is being sponsored by Condor Ferries, will show live sporting events and entertainment throughout the week until 10pm each day.

A second screen in St Aubin's Village, which is being sponsored by Jersey Gas, will also show events, enabling islanders and visitors to enjoy a wide range of sports.

Games Director Steve Bailey said: "I think there will be a fantastic atmosphere at both venues, and I hope that people will go there to enjoy the sport and entertainment which will be streamed for free to the screens.

"By having screens we are enabling people who may not be able to get into some of the more restricted venues, such as swimming, to see the events and share the excitement. With so many people expected at both venues, the atmostphere will be wonderful and fitting for such a great Games."

In addition to live streaming of swimming and athletics, people will be able to see sailing, using a GPS which will track competitors around the course, and highlights of all the other events.
