A multi-sport endurance event consisting of swimming, cycling and running that made its Olympic debut at the 2000 Games in Sydney, triathlon first appeared in the 2001 Island Games in the Isle of Man.
The proposed course for the 2015 Games is likely to follow the route used for the longstanding annual Jersey Triathlon, which has attracted many well known competitors over the years. These have included the 2006 World Triathlon Champion Tim Don and former British team captain and World team gold medallist Robin Brew.
