Opened in 1997, and built to host the Island Games, it has one of the best football pitches in the British Isles (and the awards to prove it). There is grandstand seating for 1,000 spectators, with a total viewing capacity of 7,000.
In addition, Springfield has an impressive sports hall enabling netball, 5-a-side football, basketball, short tennis and badminton to be played. There is also a gymnasium on the ground floor fitted with the latest cardiovascular and fitness equipment.
